50th Anniversary Tour of the VVMCCSA

Monday 18th September - Friday 22th September, 2006

Welcome and invitation

Fancy a week-long jaunt about the scenic South Australian countryside in the company of other old motorcycle enthusiasts? Then why not join us on our 50th Anniversary Tour?

Unlike previous Anniversary Tours, the 50th will be a hub event. Rally Headquarters, and the base for all rally activities, will be The Barossa Valley Tourist Park, Penrice Rd, Nuriootpa 5355, (08) 8562 1404. Nuriootpa is an excellent base for a hub rally. Our day runs (typically 160 km) will allow us to explore not only the beautiful Barossa Valley, but also the Murray River to the east, the old mining towns to the north, and the hills to the south.

Nuriootpa is located one hour to the north east of Adelaide. We hope that by holding a hub rally within easy reach of Adelaide, more of our local members will be able to participate in the event, even if they are unable to commit to the full five days. Since we are celebrating our "Golden Anniversary" we are keen to have as many members involved as possible.

The dates for the tour have been chosen to coincide with two well-established events: the V&V Motorcycles-Only Swap Meet at Birdwood on the Sunday before the tour, and the Bay to Birdwood Run (for pre-1957 vehicles) on the Sunday following. Those wishing to attend the Swap can join us for an informal welcome at Rally Headquarters on Saturday evening, then a ride or drive down to Birdwood on Sunday morning. The tour proper will begin on Monday 18th September with the first day run from Rally Headquarters.

Interested? If you've filled in an Expressions of Interest form, you should be on the mailing list for entry forms and newsletters. If not, you can skip that part of it and fill in an Entry Form directly. Be sure to read the accompanying Information Sheet which has some extra information regarding entry. Entry forms need to be mailed in to reach the Entry Coordinator, Colin Pauley, by June 30. Don't wait - do it now!

The first newsletter is now available.

Details of the rally route are now available.
