Motor Cycle Rally 2017

| The Veteran and
Vintage Motor Cycle Club of South Australia is hosting the National
Veteran Motor Cycle Rally in September 2017. The rally is a
non-competitive event on open South Australian roads for motor cycles
and tri-cars built before 31 December 1918. Veteran enthusiasts from
clubs all around Australia are invited to join us for the event. The
organisers would be especially interested to hear from international
enthusiasts who may wish to join us. |

Where |
Based at the
Barossa Tourist Park, Nuriootpa, in the heart of the Barossa
Valley SA |

Rally Format |
Interesting, quiet, undulating roads and great scenery. We
have preliminary run details, which incorporate a maximum of 30
km between stops, a morning tea break each day, and total daily
distances of 100km or, on one day, just a little over. |
|
Attractions |
Let's start with 100+ interesting veteran motorcycles, 100+
interesting veteran enthusiasts, and six days of riding on
beautiful, quiet country roads. If you need more, you'll be
surrounded by wineries, historical locations and buildings, fine
foods and dining, and arts and crafts |

Other events |
Bay to Birdwood Classic (the more "modern" event,
unfortunately) scheduled for the Sunday 24th September following
the Rally or move on up the road to Clare for the National
Veteran Car Rally, 24 - 30th September |

Accommodation |
The cabins at the
Barossa Tourist Park are close to fully booked, but various sites
and camping options are available. The local area has a huge
range of accommodation options including other caravan parks,
motels, B&Bs, etc. If you need help, try the

Costs |
We're working on costs at the moment, but as usual they will
be kept as low as possible |

Expression of Interest |
Unlike previous Rallies, we're not having a formal
"expression of interest" procedure. However to make sure you're
on our email list, please drop us a note at
[email protected] to
let us know you're keen. If you have a nice photo of your
veteran that we can use, please send us a copy.
We have
arranged a bus to follow the rally each day: please let us know if you will be accompanied by
one or more family, friends or supporters who would like to make
use of the rally bus. |

Machines |
The event is for machines built before 31 December 1918
which are largely as they left the factory. |
|

The Entry Form is available below (1 March 2017).
Entries
will close 31 July 2017.
Late entries may be
accepted up until 31 August, with a late fee and some limitations. |
